Winter 2009-10 News

Spring is here!

Greetings from Henrik

Hey peeps,

Just a quick note to let you all know that signups will open on Thursday, October 15th, @ 12:00 Noon!

Games look to be starting the first or second week in November, depending on whether we manage to hold the Captains' Draft before or after Nationals. If before, then we'll start games on Tuesday, November 3. If we have to wait till after Natties, then we'll start games on Tuesday, November 10, and the 3rd and 5th will be open for pickup! This year we've done away with the early & late games — all 4 games on Tuesdays and Thursdays will be playing at the same time, from 7:00-10:00PM! Games are to 15 with a mirror half. Offense calls 4:3 or 3:4. Any time left over before 10PM is for pickup. Since we're all playing at the same time now, we can all go out, eat, drink and be merry together too! (And bonus: No more soccer balls on our fields, yo!)

We will be back at Crocker Amazon fields, down on Geneva Avenue near the Cow Palace. Our theme is all set, team names have been chosen, and Senator Mark Gettys is working on the designs even as you read this!

In the immortal words of Tommy Boy: "It's GO TIME!"

Thanks and see you on the fields!

P.S. If you're wondering why the fees are higher this year, please read about it on the info page for SF Winter League Fees for 2009 (the Director's Cut).

Field Status

This space is fairly moot since we're on the turn at Crocker. The lights will pretty much always be on even when it's raining.

If it's really pouring, we may still potentially call off some games, so in those situations, you can still check here or on the blog for word. We do not have a telephone hotline anymore, sadly. That shit was fun.

Best Perspective

Check out Best Perspective Ever, the SF Winter League blog and talk it up!

No, SERIOUSLY. We're not effing around here. And don't just be a lurker — comment and get your chatter on!

Where's the field?

Maps, directions and links to public transportation can be found on the Field Directions page.
